Well it has been a few days since I have been here, Summer is doing just great. she is such a good little puppy. I took her to the vets yesterday dr said all is good but she does have a little something something going on with the knee. Dr said this is common for little dogs to have these knee problems and it might require surgery down the road when she gets older. But that is no reason to return her back to the pet store.
She seems to be very happy with us, she plays with Thena all the time. Jack is great with her he takes her out every morning and lets her play til I get up and I feed her and she plays more. then she takes a nap for a couple of hours. Still not completely house trained yet but she hasn't pooped on the floor since she got here just few little pee's accasionally.
Yesterday after the vets I took her to my aunt's house and she slept on my lap during the whole visit. then I went to my friend Dan's house and she slept there too.
Getting summer has been the best thing I could have ever done. I used to have depression for a while and since she has come to live I don't have it anymore. daily she makes me laugh by doing something funny and she is so damn cute I just want to eat her up. My girl summer is the best

July 26th 2010
Well Summer is back on track again today after spending the afternoon from Hell with Daddy and Thena yesterday. We went out for a walk today tried to learn how to walk on a leash actually did a very good job. I took her to store today and got her some more toys and a harness. We went out several times today and now she is down for a nap.

July 25th 2010
Well I woke up about 5:30 and Summer was keeping herself amused at the bottom of the bed I got up and took her out and she did her thing and I brought her back in. She is in her crate right now chewing on the bone her daddy gave her last night. Pays to have a dad who is a butcher. and Jack and Thena are still asleep. but Thena is on the floor next to summer's crate making sure everything is ok.
Well July 24th
Summer and I went out today to meet her relatives. It was so hot but we hopped in the car with the A/C on and took a ride to Essex, so far she is great in the car. she was laying upside down on her pillow and chewing on her feet the whole time I was driving. and fell asleep just as I pulled into my aunt's driveway. She first met aunt Ginny who thought she was adorable then she met Damon and Erin my tennants and then she met her uncle Dan. she played a little bit at Dan's house then fell asleep again. It was getting really hot so I took her home. Got her settled in she doesn't mind staying in her crate at all played with all her toys and had dinner and drink. I took her out and she was pretty much all set for the evening. Sara called and we were going to meet for dinner when she got here she fed summer again as with it being so hot she didn't eat too much during the day. she had water and sara took her out. We left for dinner and when I got back she had done just fine.
When Jack got home from his basketball game he of course had to take her out of the crate and play with her for a while. He gave her something to drink but then took her out with Thena before he came to bed. We put her crate in the bedroom last night as it was so hot and the bedroom has A/C at some point during the evening we had bad thunderstorms of course her being in a medal cage I though oh no so I took her out put her in bed with us. she settled right down and went back to sleep. and slept through the rest of the night. She loves her crate she never cries when I put her in it.
Thena has been great with her she isnt pushy trying to get Jack's attention or mine like I thought she might be she has kind of taken on an attitude like Summer is my little sis and I have to take care of her. When summer is in the crate Thena lays very close to it and puts her nose near summers almost like to say I am here sis. Summer loves this her little tail wags So Thena gets a good girl from Mom for this behavior.

My Friend Pat Passed away on June 20th
Well I went to see Pat about 5 days before she passed away from Cancer. god I hate that disease. Pat and I went back many years, we were good friends over the years but we also had a very strange relationship as well. We did have one thing that bonded us together always it was our beloved pets. We cried over our babies together and laughed over them. but the one thing we always had were them.
Pat loved animals more then any other person I know. I remember taking rides with her and she would actually stop on the side of the road if there was a turtle or something in the middle of it. she would practically kill herself getting to the poor creature but she always made sure she put it to the side of the road so no one could run over it. She was so kind that way. I will always remember when I moved in with Jack she was livid telling me I had made such a big mistake she thought for sure I had, well 14 years later we are still married and used to kid each other about if I had listened to her I would probably still be single.

July 23rd 2010 A new puppy for me
A new puppy for me, My casey has been gone since May 3rd and I miss him dearly, but I think Casey was responible for me finding this little muffin in Newport NH today. As sara and I were driving we saw this little pet store and I asked her if we could go in. She said sure we can, Well there were puppies for sale there I saw the sweetest little cockapoo there but she was a bit on the large size I was looking for a smaller dog, so I asked the lady there if she had any smaller dogs and she said yes in the back room she invited me in and there in this create was my sweetie girl the lady put her on the counter in front of me and there was a quick connection.
She is a chinese crested / Toy poodle mix she is 12 weeks old her birthday is 4/24/10 well after spending much time with her I decided to buy her, I called my husband at work in CT and said would it be ok if I brought home a puppy and he said yes. Sara and I had a few other things we had to do while we were in Newport so I paid for her and told the lady I would be back at 5:00 to pick her up.
Sara and I went on our way, and about 4:30 we went back to get her, we were concerned as we still had one stop to make and I was concerned about the 3 hour ride back to Essex. We took the puppy to her uncle's house who is not doing very well. but she seemed to cheer him up a bit. oh hell she cheered everyone up she met many of sara's relatives and she was such a good girl. finally we got on the road back to connecticut about 7:45 pm we stopped at a mac Donalds on the way home and she went potty and basically slept the whole three hours we were heading home. when we got back to sara's it was thundering and lighting and I put her i the car and drove another 15 minutes to saybrook again very good girl. then got her in the house and put her in a crate that jack set up for me and she went right to sleep. I was still wired for sound and couldn't sleep so I got her out of crate at 2:30 and layed on the couch with her and she went back to sleep and slept til 5:30 when I got up.
Thena our lab loves her she didn't have any problems with her from the beginning. which made me very happy. She is a great puppy very mellow seems to love everyone is very outgoing without being fresh she listens to what you have to say. she sure is a sweetie her name is going to be Summer and she is joined by her sister Thena a black lab and her daddy Jack. she seems to have made herself right at home.
